Ares is the god of terrible war, bloodbath and massacre in Greek mythology. He is one of the twelve Olympic gods, the Olympioi. Ares is described as a raw, wild, untamable war god who takes pleasure in violence and goes with the wild animals to feast on their blood. While Athena, the goddess of wisdom and the cunning, stands for the heroic part of war, Ares is more of a sinister god, a `divine brawler`.
