A common symbol of the holiday is the skull, called a calavera in Spanish. In this mural a young lady is standing atop a calavera with her arms outstretched holding a winged heart and a palatte of paint. She has the skull mask worn by celebrants called a calacas. A banner has the words `Yo Soy La Hija de mi Padre`. The English translation is `I am the daughter of my father`.
