Thanks to the heavy rain season in California, boaters and anglers are taking advantage of the high water level of Lake Cachuma. The water level of the lake has not been this high in over five years. As of March 28, 2019, it is at 78.0% of capacity. Boats of all kinds are available to rent, as are fishing poles and related gear. Cachuma Lake is a reservoir in the Santa Ynez Valley of central Santa Barbara County, California on the Santa Ynez River adjoining the north side of California State Route 154. The artificial lake was created by the construction of Bradbury Dam, built by the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation in 1953.
