One of the stories that developed in the surrounding community about twin banyans was during the time of the first Sultan Hamengkubowono. Once upon a time when Sultan Hamengkubuwono first reigned, there was a story about a daughter& x27;s marriage. At that time, the Sultan& x27;s daughter wanted to be married to a man, but unfortunately the princess did not really like it. As a result the princess asked for conditions. The suitor must be able to walk blindfolded from the pavilion to the north of Alun-alun Kidul past the two twin banyan trees in the middle of the Alun-alun and finish at the pavilion to the south of the Alun-alun. And it turns out that the princess& x27;s strategy worked, the young man failed to carry out his mission. Then the sultan gave his word that those who could pass the princess& x27;s conditions were only young men whose hearts were truly clean and sincere. Until a young man from Siliwangi was able to overcome these obstacles and finally married the Sultan& x27;s daughter.
