| Green persimmon (Diospyros oleifera) is grown as a single tree in the gardens of houses in the provinces of Hatay, Adana and Mersin in the south of Turkey. Its fruits are rich in tannins, hairy, outer skin color is greenish yellow and rather small compared to persimmon. Fruit flesh color is stable and astringent. Fruit weight is between 40 gr-110 gr. The fruits ripen in November. It can grow up to 14 meters. It forms a strong rootstock and it can be grafted with persimmon varieties. |
