This lush valley was once covered by a mature stand of lodgepole pine trees. But on July 25th, 1979, the Bridge Creek fire devastated nearly the entire valley, a three-mile stretch from Tumalo Falls at the west end to Skyliner Road at the east end. Since then, extensive reforestation has taken hold, and the 30-year growth has now rendered a new pine forest of 20 foot stands all throughout the rugged canyon terrain. |
