It is a shrub of Daphne family and the genus Daphne. Its height is about 0.7-1.5 meters. Its branches are stout and brown. It often has trifurcate branches. Its young branches are often pubescent. Its phloem is very tough. Its leaf scars are large and its diameter is about 5 mm. Leaves withered before anthesis, oblong, lanceolate to oblanceolate, apex short-pointed, base cuneate or tapering.
