Blood Swept Lands and Seas of Red is an installation at the Tower of London in the UK. 888,246 ceramic poppies will eventually fully encircle the 16 acre site and each poppy represents a fallen British soldier in the First World War. The display is masterminded by Tom Piper and the poppies made by artist Paul Cummins and 50 people from his studio. This image shows the poppies rising up, the Gherkin and modern buildings are in the background |
