Singapore - August 14, 2015: A tombstone listing the final resting place of a Muslim soldier of the Bahawalpur Infantry of the British Indian Army at the Kraji War Cemetery in Singapore. At its peak, almost one million Pakistanis / Indians fought for the Allies against the Axis in the British Indian Army during World War Two. Many of the divisions and regiments have now been amalgamated into the present day Pakistan and Indian military, including the Bahawalpur Infantry. |
