Tokyo, Japan, Mizuko, Senjo-chori Jizosonson of Zojoji Temple (Minato-ku, Tokyo). Mizuko is the term used in Japan to refer to the souls of children who died before birth or shortly after. The stone statues are of the beloved Buddhist divinity Jizo. The rows of Jizo are dedicated to children who were stillborn, miscarried, or aborted. Parents can decorate a chosen statue with a knit bonnet and bib, and a windmill toy.
