An azulejo or azuléjo1 plural: azulejos indicatesappoints in Spain and in Portugal a tilewindow pane or a set of decorated earthenware tiles. These tileswindow panes are decorated with geometrical motives or with representational representations. We find them as well inside buildingsships as in outside cover of facade. This art developed at first in Andalusia in the XVth century, before knowing its peak in the XVIIIth century in Portugal. There is nowadays an art living in the South of Spain and in Portugal.
