Pictured are tile-shard mosaics by Spanish architect Josep Maria Jujol, garnishing the ceiling of the Hypostyle Room in Park Guell in Barcelona, Spain. Parc Guell is a privatized park system composed of gardens and architectural elements that opened in 1926. The park was built from 1900 to 1914 with the design assigned by Eusebi Guell to the renowned architect and face of Catalan modernism, Antoni Gaudi. In 1984 it was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site under `Works of Antoni Gaudi`. |
