Delphi is an important archaeological site, as well as a historic city of ancient Greece, which extends on the slopes of Mount Parnassus, on the outskirts of Central Greece, at the crossroads of ancient roads. In ancient times Delphi, said navel of the world, was the seat of the most important and revered oracle of the god Apollo: the oracle of Delphi; the remains of the temple dedicated to Apollo Delphic are part of Greek mythology, with the famous theater and stadium. On the portal to the sanctuary was given the famous motto ÃâÃÂéÃËÃ⢠ãÃâ¢ÃâÃ¥äßà(Gnothi seauton) which means know thyself and that will then be taken up by Socrates.
