The railway bridge across the river Tay in Scotland. This view is from Wormit in Fife towards Dundee. The original bridge collapsed when a train was crossing during a storm on 28th December 1879 and the story is immortalised by Dundees infamous bard, William Topaz McGonagall, in his poem The Tay Bridge Disaster. |
