Legendary actors Hume Cronyn and Jessica Tandy are among the rare legendary husband-and -wife acting teams who achieved extraordinary success on stage, screen; and tv. Their marriage lasted over 50 years. Ms Tandy, an English-American, won an Oscar for her portrayal of the title role in 'Driving Miss Daisy.' She garnered a formidable 4 Tonys, a BAFTA, a Golden Globe and an Emmy. For his part, Hume Cronyn, a Canadian, won 3 Primetime Emmys and received an Oscar nomination. They are seen here taking their bows after performing in `The Gin Game` in Chicago in 1979. They originated the role on Broadway in its very successful run in 1977 through 1978. Tandy died on September 11, 1994 in Easton, Connecticut at the age of 85. Cronyn died in Fairfield, Connecticut on June 15, 2003 at the age of 91.
