The North Gate of Taipei City, officially known as Cheng'en Gate, or simply the North Gate, is a Qing Dynasty city gate building located in Zhongzheng District, Taipei City, Taiwan. It is the main entrance of Taipei City. Located at the intersection of Zhongxiao West Road, Yanping South Road and Boai Road in present-day Taipei City, it was completed in the 10th year of the reign of Emperor Guangxu of the Qing Dynasty (1884). It is the only one of the five major city gates in Taipei City that has completely preserved its original appearance during the city's founding era, and is a representative work of Taiwan's new city gates. , is also one of the few remaining Qing Dynasty buildings in Taipei city. There was originally an urn city outside the gate, but it no longer exists. It is now listed as a national monument of the Republic of China together with other city gates in Taipei City.
