Swoyambhu Mahachaitya is one of the oldest religious sites in Nepal. It is located on top of a hill in Kathmandu and has 365 steps leading up to it. There is a Buddhist stupa crowned with four faces, the eyes of Buddha looking out over the city. Alongside the stupa is an important Hindu temple. The site is a place of worship for both Buddhist and Hindu religions.
