Barn Swallow Hirundo rustica. It breeds in rural areas, small cities, and around cultivated areas. It builds its open-topped bowl-shaped nest of mud and dry grass in structures and rock cavities. It stays in reed beds outside of the breeding season. It feeds on flies and insects with its wide beak during flight. It breeds in April and May, depending on the geographical region. It can lay eggs 2-3 times a year. Between 3 and 8 eggs are laid. The incubation period is 14-16 days. The moulting period is between 17-24 days.
