| Actress Suzanne Somers headlines as a singer, dancer, and comedienne at The Mill Run Playhouse Theatre in Niles, Illinois, near Chicago, in 1980. The venue, a theater-in-the-round, seating 1,600 people opened in 1965 and closed its doors in 1984. Somers, an exercise and diet maven, achieved fame playing the ditzy role of `Chrissy Snow` on the hit ABC-TV 8-season comedy hit, `Three`s Company,` which ran from 1977 until 1984. She left after five seasons following a contract dispute. Somers died after a long battle with breast cancer on Oct. 15, 2023, on the eve of her 77th birthday, in Palm Springs, California. |
