| The Gallery of the National Flags - the main public entrance to the Palace of United Nations (Palais des Nations) in Geneva, Switzerland. The Palace of the Nations was build in 1929-1936 as the headquarters of the League of Nations, founded in 1920 to preserve the world peace in the aftermath of World War I. In 1946, after the League of Nations was dissolved, the Palace become the European Headquarters of the United Nations Organization (Organisation des Nations Unies - ONU). |
