Erica carnea, or winter heath, is primarily used ornamentally in gardens for its evergreen foliage and profuse winter-blooming flowers, thriving in rock gardens, as groundcover, in containers, and for borders. Beyond landscaping, it supports pollinators, can be used for thatching or basketry, and the branches are a source of fuel and can be used to make brooms. Certain Erica species also have potential uses in traditional folk medicine for their anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties.
