Roofed lane in the old Yazd. Yazd, the capital of Yazd Province, and a centre of Zoroastrian culture. The view on one of the main streets and the center of the town from the top of Amir Chaqmag complex. Some buildings have on the roof well visible ââ¬Å¾windcatchersââ¬Å, the ancient ventilation system. The city has long history of over 3000 years and originally was known as Ysatis (or Issatis). Today the city is bearing name of Yazdegerd I, a Sassanid ruler. |
