Essaouira, coast of the atlantic ocean in Morocco.Essaouira is one of the largest fishing centers in Morocco. The port was created in the second half of the fifteenth century by the Portuguese colonists, was known as Mogador. At the entrance to the city there is the port bastion Skala du Port. From the massive walls protrude the barrels of Portuguese, Spanish and Dutch cannons. You can admire the nearby Purple Islands from the walls of the Portuguese bastion. The beautiful seafront at the harbor attracts with its magnificent, raw appearance.Medina is a collection of souvenir shops and art galleries. Moroccan artists were fond of this place. The local specialty is tuna wood products. Strolling through cobbled alleys with whitewashed houses with blue doors, cracked white plasters and fancy, rusty bars, sooner or later, after anothernby bend, we come across a workshop or shop. The main streets are wide and connect several large squares with outdoor cafes.
