Partial view of the facade of the Stockholm Stadium. It is the oldest Olympic arena still in use today, with athletic meets still held on the track, and with concerts and events able to cater for up to 33,000 spectators. Designed by architect Torben Grut, it was opened in 1912; its original use was as a venue for the 1912 Olympic Games. This stadium is mainly distinguished by the fact that its owner, the Municipality of Stockholm, has maintained the original atmosphere of the premises, which makes it possible to feel how were lived the sports spectacles for more than a hundred years.
