| The neolithic stones at Stenness, on the main island of Orkney, are a World heritage site. These three stones are the remains of a circle of 12, are about a foot thick, and up to 16ft high. The image was taken late evening, with a marvellous sky. Sir Walter Scott visited here in 1814. |
