| A Blue Morpho butterfly rests on the rocks which protect the dam at lake 33 at Busch Wildlife Area in St. Charles County, in east Central Missouri. A hot September days require the insect to rest only a short while because the rocks are hot. The underside of its wings are speckled with orange and white spots against a iridescent blue background to add to its camouflage. Some ivy gives some shade for it to rest under. |
