Cathedral Square & Statue of the Virgin Mary - The statue of the Virgin Mary was built out of lead and marble in the 18th century. The statue of Mary is located in the center of the Bishop’s Square in Salzburg, with the Bishop’s Palace in the north and Salzburg Cathedral in the east. It is directly connected to Palace Square and Chapter Square. The statue is divided into two layers, the lower layer has a person on each of the four corners, and the top layer is the statue of the Virgin Mary.
