Pictured is a poorly preserved statue of the lion faced goddess Sekhmet on the left side of the entrance passageway of the Migdol Gate entrance to the Mortuary Temple of Ramesses III in Medina Habu. A second statue of Sekhmet faces this statue from the left side of the passageway. Ramesses III modeled the Migdol Gate on the gatehouses of Syrian fortresses he had seen during his Syrian war campaigns. The second pharoah of the 20th dynasty, Ramesses III is considered the last great pharoah of Egypt and his mortuary temple is covered with reliefs of his conquests.
