| Situated in the middle of the Trocodero roundabout is a very impressive statue to Ferdinand Foch, Marshal of France, Commander-in-Chief of the Allied Armies during WW1. He played a decisive role in halting a German advance on Paris which resulted in him being promoted to Marshal of France; in this new role he is credited with creating the final Allied strategy that won the war.
