The architecture of this whitewashed building is a clear reflection of Negeri Sembilan's colonial era. Designed by D. B. Hubback, an English architect, it was built in 1912. Although built without piles, it still stands strong. Sandwiched between the Seremban Lake Garden and the State Legislative Assembly Building, it was formerly the office of the State Secretary, before being taken over by the State Library authorities in 1987. Being a treasure trove of knowledge, this library is visited by students and academicians, not only from Seremban and its surrounding areas, but also from higher learning institutions around the Klang Valley.
