Basalt rock formation and Fingals Cave on the island of Staffa in the Treshnish Islands in the Inner Hebrides off the west coast of Scotland. Fingals Cave was made famous by the composer Felix Mendelsohn who visited the island in 1829 and then wrote the Hebrides Overture orpus 26, commonly known as the Fingals Cave Overture. |
