On the road from Srinagar (Kashmir) to Leh (Ladakh). This winding road is a precarious life-line that connects the remote Indus Valley of Ladakh, part of the Tibetan Plateau with mainland india. For traveelrs this road, which crossed the actual Himalayan Range, is one of the most spectacular road trips in the world. It is possibly only rivalled by the other road that leads to Leh, from Manali in Himachal Pradesh. Both roads are closed 5-6 months per year and are prone to landslides, and avalanches.
