The source of Santa Maria is a public fountain in the center of the homonymous square in the city of Baeza. Centra urban space defined by the presence of the cathedral, the high town halls and seminar . It represents one of the main monumental icons of the city and is , in the words of architectural historian Fernando Chueca Goitia , one of the most beautiful and original Andalusian sources. Part of the Renaissance monuments of Baeza , which along with Ubeda , was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 2003 .
