Beautiful autumn colors fill the background behind a tree trunk covered with spotted lanternfly egg masses. Female spotted lanternflies lay their eggs in the autumn. Each egg mass can contain thirty to fifty eggs that will hatch in the spring. This photo was taken in Rutherford, New Jersey, on October 29th 2022.
