The Spasskaya tower before 1658 - Frolovskaya is the most famous of the 20 towers of the Moscow Kremlin, facing Red square near the lobnoye mesto And Pokrovsky Cathedral. The tower`s tent is decorated with a clock-chimes that made the Spasskaya tower a collective symbol of the Kremlin and Moscow as a whole. The tower was built in 1491 by the Milanese architect Pietro Antonio Solari, and later built by the English architect Christopher Galovey together with the Russian master Bazhen Ogurtsov. |
