The wall along Kitaygorodsky passage was restored in 1968-1973. During the construction of Zaryadye Park, archaeologists found one of the surviving fragments of the wall underground, which was later carefully restored. You can see it now in the Underground Museum. The permanent exhibition `Fortress artillery of the Moscow tsardom of the XV-XVII centuries` is currently working on the Kitaygorodskaya wall. The staircase on the Kitaygorodskaya wall is equipped with a lift. With walls more than six meters thick, the height was about eight meters. The fighting area was so wide that it was possible to ride a pair of horses across it.After the Kitaygorodskaya wall was built in 1535-1538, Zaryadye was inside it.
