The southern ground hornbill is a vulnerable species. They forage on the ground, where they feed on reptiles, frogs, snails, insects and mammals. Southern ground hornbills can be found from northern Namibia and Angola to northern South Africa and southern Zimbabwe to Burundi and Kenya. This is a large bird, at 90 to 129 cm 2 ft 11 in to 4 ft 3 in long. Females weigh 2.2 to 4.6 kilograms 4.9 to 10.1 lb, while the larger males weigh 3.5 to 6.2 kilograms 7.7 to 13.7 lb. This one was found in Kruger Park in South Africa
