This is a Winter picture on a snowy day of the historic base of the Southeast corner view of the Chicago Water Tower located on Michigan Avenue in Chicago, Illinois in Cook County. This structure was designed by William W. Boyington, it was constructed out of Lamont Limestone, it is the second oldest water tower in the United States, it inspired the design of the original White Castle Restaurant’s design, it is one of three surviving structures from the Great Chicago Fire of 1871, it was built in 1869. This building was added to the National Register of Historic Places on April 23, 1975. This picture was taken on February 11, 18.
