A flock of geese and ducks of mixed species rest on their way back north in late February in east central Missouri. Standing corn has been left as a food source for the migratory waterfowl in the state owned B.K. Leach State Wildlife Refuge. Located near the Mississippi River in the Mississippi Flyway, these fields are flooded each fall as a resting area for migratory Waterfowl. The geese huddle together in the shallow water and keep an eye on the sky for predators.
