A small, young edible mushroom Morchella semilibera, commonly called the half-free morel, grows in the forest. The brown cap is hemispherical, pointed. The white stem is colubrid-patterned and flaky. German names: Käppchenmorchel, Halbfreie Morchel, Glockenmorchel, Mützenmorchel, Bastardmorchel.
