Pictured is a POW-MIA memorial with an engraved black stone featuring Mary, Mother of Vocations ouside the Saint Mary Catholic Church as the sun rises in Marfa, Texas. The church began as Our Lady of the Guadalupe Mission in 1875. Construction of the current church began in 1889. Today Saint Mary Parish has more than a hundred families and the Vicar and administrator is Reverend John Paul Madanu. Mary is the Mother of Vocations because when she conceived Jesus Christ, she brought into the world the one from whom every vocation is derived.
