Attractive fishing town with working harbour and short ferry crossing to quaint village of Rock across the estuary. Plenty of boutiques, art shops and cafes in a maze of narrow oldy worldy streets, as well as 3 restaurants owned by world-renowned chef Rick Stein. Padstow also has historic significance as a busy trading port from the earliest times and Welsh and Irish saints landed here in the Dark Ages. The local church, shared by Catholics and Protestants alike, takes its name from St Petroc who founded a monastery there in the 6th century AD and stayed for 30 years.
