Single gourd hanging from the tree stem instead of from the branches! Gourd is a tropical plant and this was photographed on a property in Ado Ekiti Nigeria. There are several uses of gourd. The seeds of some varieties are edible and said to be nutritious. Calabash is made out of the back of this fruit. Calabash is useful as a receptacle for holding drinks or water or food. It keeps food warm or cold as the case may be.
