In 1945 the German Wehrmacht demolished the bridge to stop allied forces from freeing Germany. In the 1950s the reservoir was built, and the railroad was abandoned and the bridge never rebuilt. Wahnbachtalsperre is a reservoir lake near Bonn. The lake was built in the 1950s as flood prevention and fresh water reserve. The lake is located between Bad Honnef and Siegburg, with the dam near Seligenthal.
