Zarih or shrine, sculpted in Iran by Farshchian in elegant and fine Islamic art on donated silver and gold, for the tomb of Imam Hussain in Karbala, ahead of the marking of Ashoura and the battle of Karbala, in which the grandson of Prophet Mohammad, Imam Hussain, was martyred by the Umayyad caliph of his time. The shrine was then moved to Karbala in Iraq for the pilgrimage of millions of Shias each year for Ashoura and Arbaeen ceremonies and record-breaking pilgrimages, and to last for the next centuries.
