Shell Beach is a natural beach where 28 miles of beach is covered with calcium-rich sea shells. Shell Beach is located in the Shark Bay region of Western Australia, located 45 km south-east of Denham. It is one of only two beaches in the world made entirely from shells. The beach was named because of the great abundance of the shells of the cockle species Fragum erugatum.
