Sha Tin Racecourse is Hong Kong`s second racecourse. It is located in the eastern part of Fo Tan in the eastern part of the New Territories. It was constructed and run by the Hong Kong Jockey Club and was completed on 7 October 1978. There are two grass fields in Shatin Racecourse, with a total of two runways. The grass runway has a total width of 30.5 meters and a circumference of about 1900 meters with a capacity of 85,000. The world class venue standards, but also the top racetrack in Asia. A number of international competitions are held each year and attract top people from all over the world to compete with each other here. Sha Tin Racecourse is currently the main venue for day jockey events. However, there are also 1-2 racing days where nightly horse racing events are held.
