On July 8, 2025, two consecutive days of heavy monsoon rains caused severe flooding in several areas of Feni city, including the main road, SSK Road, in Sadar Upazila of Feni District, Bangladesh. The flash floods submerged roads, disrupted traffic, and caused extreme hardship to residents. Many shops and houses were submerged, forcing people to wade through waist-deep water or salvage their belongings. Local businesses suffered significant damage. This unexpected urban flood highlighted the district's inadequate drainage system and the growing impact of climate change on low-lying urban areas. Emergency services struggled to provide immediate relief as residents faced waterborne health risks and a lack of clean drinking water.
