Åmi hakkei Katata no rakugan, about 1880, watercolor on silk. The Napoleonic Museum in Rome, Italy. The first two rooms are dedicated to the splendor of the first empire 1804-1814. Here are collected the large canvases that depict the numerous members of the imperial families in noble and conventional poses. The museum houses the Napoleonic paintings and the relics donated to the city of Rome by the count Giuseppe Primoli, nephew of the emperor. The count's desire was not so much to display the imperial grandeur of the Bonaparte family as their private history and the close relationship between the Bonapartes and the city of Rome.
