Wahnbachtalsperre is a reservoir lake near Bonn. The lake was built in the 1950s as flood prevention and fresh water reserve. The lake is located between Bad Honnef and Siegburg, with the dam near Seligenthal. A large water are covering a whole valley provides a habitat for several fish and water birds. Though many small rivers are the direct source, the water is connected to Sieg and Rhine nearby, influencing the water level. The water is used for Bonn, Königswinter, even Remagen and Bad Neuenahr-Ahrweiler on the other side of the Rhine.
